Ben Spiegel Dominates everyone

Posted Saturday, November 05, 2005 by Web Master

After missing a year due to a severe back injury, Ben Spiegel of Horace Greeley is back on the mat. He dominated his opponents today at the Strong Island pre-season tournament. The only backs that hurt today were those of his opponents as they struggled to not be pinned.

Ben hurt his back so badly he wasn't sure he would ever wrestle again. Instead of feeling sorry for himself, he dedicated himself more than ever to building up his physique to protect his back from future injury. All the hard work paid off today as he crushed his finals opponent. His potent offense yielded him several takedowns and near fall points en route to three victories again tough Long Island wrestlers. We were all very proud of his performance, especially after such a long sabbatical.

Way to go Ben.

In other news, Kyle Friedman wrestled well in two of his three matches. His first match found him unprepared, but he rebounded with two solid performances. Greg Einfrank mauled all three opponents on his way to the top of the podium. Kevin Singleton didn't fair as well. He will continue to work hard and looks forward to another chance to test his skills. Mike Ahearn won 2 of 3 and looks sharp and ready for this High School season. Justis Flamio easily won 3 matches at his weight, but then seeking stiffer competition lost twice in exhibition matches.

Keep up the Good work.
